We hope you had a good dosing of turkey over the long holiday weekend! We all spent the weekend recovering, as the last couple weeks have been pretty busy for the 4-Wheel & Off-Road staff!
While you were getting ready to eat some turkey this November, we were getting ready to get into Mexico. The reason? Off roading of course! Our very own chief Rick Pewe was racing with Rod Hall in a stock class Hummer H3. We were there for the beginning of the race to see our boss' ride leave, but the H3 was rolled before Rick was even able to get in (dang, guess we can't blame that one on him). Fortunately the H3 was flipped upright and was able to continue racing once the first driving team had their wits back with them. They ended up taking a 3rd place in the race and becoming points champion this season. Nice job guys.
- A little after 11am, the trophy trucks came roaring out of the starting gate and started on their journey to the tip of the Baja peninsula.
- Here is the Stock Mini Rod Hall Hummer H3 at the starting line that our boss & trusted leader Rick Pewe would ride in at a later time. Before the boss hopped in, the H3 was rolled but still finished 3rd in its category, and came out as points champion in its class.
Nice job, boss (oh yeah, and Rod too)! - In lots of off road racing in Mexico, it's almost absurd how close you can get to the action. Every year, some turista or local gets killed getting too close to a passing race vehicle. Be aware! These things are bigger than you, so get outta the danged way!

- We were rooting for our competition at Dirt Sports Magazine and our friends Chris Corbett & Clifton Slay in their Class 11 Volkswagen: they were racing for Cure Autism Now (CAN) and were raising funds as they passed markers in the 1000. Unfortunately, they got run over early in the race and were taken out by a bigger race buggy. Boo on you, you big bully! We'll keep from mentioning this racer's name and throwing him under a bus, and we're sure the Dirt Sports crew will have their VW up & running for charity in future events.
