I've been up at Poly Performance all this week working on the tube buggy. It's slow going building a 4x4 from scratch, but the results are pretty amazing. Here is one of the front shock mounts made from 8 separate pieces of cut, bent, and dimple died chromoly sheet. To get to this point head fabricator at P.P. Drew Burroughs and his crew lay out a design in hard poster board, then we start cutting out the pieces from the Chromoly sheet metal, in this case .090 thick. Next it is bent or dimpled and then Drew follows up with some clean tig welds. Where the bolt goes through the mount it is made from two pieces for added strength
