Ford 9" Axle Build

It's been a long time... way too long... so here is an update!

It has now been ~2.5 months since I have updated the Budget 9" build. And in that time I have lost the Budget part.

You see, this build started off to show that you can build a strong axle for not alot of money. Well as things progressed I decided to go a little bigger. So, while  you could still do this with Junk Yard parts, I did not.

I still have the same housing, the same everything from the Junk Yard as before, only differance now is in the 3rd Member. Instead of running the stock 28spline third like I had planned, I decided to go with a 35spline unit. A quick call to West Coast Differentials (www.differentials.com) and I had a shiney new Strange Nodular 3rd memeber with a Daytona style billet pinion support, 1350 pinion, 35spline Detroit Locker, and 4.56 Sierra Gear gears. With the larger splines comes larger axle shafts (obviously) so for those I turned to the pros at Currie Enterprises (www.currieenterprises.com) and they whiped up a set of axle shafts for me.

Tune in next time when we assemble the beast and sling it under the truck!
