The weather is getting warm again in southern California, and that means dig out your shorts and head for the shop for some fab work. (Welding is the only way we get a tan these days since most daylight hours are spent behind a computer typing stories and blogs.) This weekend I was back at Poly Performance working on the fun buggy, and though it’s taking forever to complete I’ve found being in the shop is better than any yoga or herbal tea to help me relax and forget about the grind of work. And speaking of grinding might I remind all you guys to invest in some good hearing protection when you are heading to the shop? I can’t even count how many times I have come home with ears ringing from running tools without ear phones or those little foam plugs. That damage can add up quickly leaving you missing out on the sounds of V-8 engines, spotters yelling, and the sweet lull of mud terrains cruising at high way speeds. As for the buggy, this weekend was spent fabricating some mounts for the rear air bumps. These nitrogen charged Fox bump stop soak up the last few inches of suspension compression travel so that big jumps can be landed without back breaking abuse. Every week we get a little close to the trail with this machine so keep posted for further updates.
