In the April ’08 issue of Petersen’s 4-Wheel & Off-Road, you may have noticed I rounded up front
and rear Jeep Rubicon JK axles.

Both axles come with electric lockers and 4.10 gears. These axles can be purchased from any Jeep Dealership for around $1400 each. The part number for the front axle assembly is P153825, and the rear axle is P5153826. If you are wondering what I did with them, I sourced the axles from Mopar as replacements for my ’97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. You can read about the axle swap and custom suspension installation in the July ’08 issue of the magazine, so I am not going to give up too much information until then. However, as a teaser, I will tell you that the ZJ’s factory front control-arm mounting points matched up nicely with the JK axle control-arm mounting points. The installation of the rear axle in the Jeep is a whole different story! I think this is an awesome swap; it gets rid of the weaker Dana 30 front axle and the Grand’s aluminum rear axle. Stay tuned, there’s more to come!
