Muddies on the Cruiser

33-inch tires on the '08 Cruiser

tires barely clear

I’ve been messing about with the new 2008 Land Cruiser (the winner of our 4x4 of the year) and have found out that both 17-inch rims and 33 inch tires (285/70R17) will fit on the truck in stock form.  The 17x8 wheels are from TRD and use different lug nuts than stock, but they are a forged aluminum fake beadlock that look great on the truck if I do say so.  The 33-inch Goodyear’s came from Discount Tire and though they clear its pretty close at the front mud flaps.  However those mud flaps are easily removable.  I rallied my way to work today and no speed bump caused the tires to rub, but I didn’t jump the truck with this set up like I did previously with the stock tires.  Stay tuned for more upgrade in the future to this luxury Ute.
