For example the buggy is coming together great but we still haven’t nailed down a place to mount the under hood welder. No big deal you say? Well we also have to find a spot for the darn battery that not only helps run the welder but also starts the buggy, and feeds the lights, GPS and winch. But this is just the normal procedure when building a vehicle from scratch.
Here is another example: Our 383 from Scoggin Dickey (www.sdparts.com)came with some trick fabricated valve covers, but unfortunately the accessories bracket has the main power line from the Premier Power Welder (www.premierpowerwelder.com) alternator located just millimeters from the valve covers. The solution, cut out the valve covers, notch a piece of aluminum tubing to match, and weld it all back together resulting in more clearance around the mounting bolt so nothing shorts out when the buggy is running.
It’s the hundreds of little things like this that slow down a vehicle build.
