...and met up with Ali who was already here. Fred was in town but still at the shop working on the Army Truck trans, Rick has just landed at the airport in the town next to here, and Kevin woke up from a nap just in time to great us. The staff is all here. And to make it even better, everybody else is here also. The last guys rolled into our starting point (a Days Inn hotel parking lot) at about 6:30pm (just in time for dinner, see the pattern).
With everybody here we were able to commence with the first drivers meeting, get all the rigs through tech inspection, get them all stickered up, and make any last preparations, modifications, or repairs that were needed. Right now as I sit talking to you I can see out my window the installation of a new LT1 distributor taking place under the lights of the BFG semi truck, and really that's about it. Everybody else seems ready to get on with it. (well except for poor Fred who is right now rebuilding an NV4500)
So that's it, Ultimate Adventure 2008 has officially begun and our first trail day is tomorrow. Check back for updates on the carnage tomorrow night. For now I leave you with more photos from the road. Know where we're at yet?
