The last few days I have been roaming the trails of Panamint Valley, California while attending Panamint Valley Days four-wheel drive event. This time of year this area of the desert is absolutely spectacular. This morning I woke to tremendous storm clouds that had moved into the valley from the north. It was awesome waking up the back of a truck bed, the first thing I saw was a lightening strike across the valley and heavy rain marching across the mountain tops. Truck bed camping sure beats a cheap hotel! After the rain subsided, the tops of the Panamint Range were frosted with snow. The trails here are amazing, the history and scenery is incredible, and ’wheeling with some new found friends was awesome. If you like the desert, cool trails, and the area surrounding Death Valley I highly recommend you attend next years event.
