So I was in an uproar for a few months about gas prices and our dependency on foreign oil. I thought we would forever be working just to fill the tanks of rigs up with overpriced petrol. It was a little scary thinking we may have had to save for months for gas just to go on a short ’wheeling adventure.
Fortunately fuel prices have dropped, and four-wheel enthusiasts are back on the road. The other day I was driving down the Yorba Linda Boulevard, in Placentia California. This is really the last place a person would never expect to find a group of Scouts getting ready to head out to the desert. I pulled over and gave them some Petersen stickers for their rigs, and asked them about their little adventure. They were headed to Glamis and grabbing a bite to eat while waiting for rush-hour traffic to calm down on the infamous 91 Freeway.
I've noticed more folks heading out to recreate with the fossil-fuel propelled machines to the desert. I’ve also noticed big jump in the amount of motor homes traveling the freeway. It’s great seeing life is going back to some for of normalcy after the high fuel prices, now lets see if we can kick our dependency on foreign oil.
