Guess The Engine For Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road Stickers

I was rummaging around one of my favorite shops, T& J Performance in Orange, California and ran across this old V-8 engine in a pile of parts. For some reason I thought to myself, “I wonder how long it would take one of our super-sharp readers to identify it!”

3. Shoot, it's an AMC motor? 401? (do you get the feeling I'm the only one reading this?) Who else put the big oil filler in the front?

11. I will have to concur with Finder, it is a Buick 401, like out of a 1964 Buick Wildcat. The more specific name for the engine is the 401 Nailhead.

12. Errr ok, I'd have to say the Stevo and Finder got the answer right. It's an AMC 327 out of a J3000.
