Ultimate Adventure 2010 is...

With the 2009 Ultimate Adventure in the books, we (the magazine crew) naturally begin thinking about what to build next year. And while we each have our own opinions on what we think is cool, neat, and different, there is always a group consensus that whatever we build needs to benefit both the reader and the magazine. Though there are many factors that decided what vehicle we choose, it doesn’t mean that you can’t have your 2-cent in the matter. So what do you think the 2010 Ultimate Chariot should be?

20. If it's a Jeep, I would love to see the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited Hit the trails, UA style of course! After all, It was 1998 4x4 of the year!

I loved seeing the General drive up Tiger's Back at Jeep Skool in the Ultimate Ranch Truck!

Or a J-10 Honcho Truggy would be great.A mid 70's model With all the goodies added would be a fine choice.
Just buy the FC 170 from the TTC ready to put the stickers on and GO. No build expense.

22. Start with S10 donor truck.
1. Swap in V8,tranny,transfercase of your liking.

2. Use the coil conversion kit for S10s to drop in a dynatrac 60 that bolts into TJ's. Portal-axle's lightweight, high ground clearance 14bolt.

3. Here's the kicker. Drop on top of the frame a 1934 Studebaker fiberglass body kit built for the S10 chassis. Open up the fender openings and protect the glass with the usual. Yeaahhhh.

And I don't think Rick would want to take my Durango on UA. Not that it's not comfy and fun to drive, but I think jumping in and out of it would get old to him real quick!

FYI we still have not picked a vehicle yet.

24. well id like to see the dumpster heavy metal mudder and kevins squishy toyota aka ultimate taco reincarnate on the 2010 ua. how about you back half your red chev put all freds red sled power train in it with some of those portal boxes on it and see how she does. cool yet still kinda low buck if all said parts are available. pardon my writing skills im just a gear head. i would love to put some ua superdutyesqe bodyarmour on my 08 powerwagon and bash along with you guys one yr.

26. What if you had to pick from the following three:

1-Chevy Colorado

2-Jeep Cherokee (XJ)

3-Dodge Ram 1500 ('94-'01)

27. 1. Crew (4 full door version) cab S-10 with custom lightweight stepside bed built specifically for offroad.

2. '00ish Jeep Cherokee with 37+tires on Super LCG leaf sprung rear, coil or coilover front. Get stupid with fender clearance to make it work but still remain clean, like a factory offering. Shoehorning a small block in it would be fun but keep it and the gearing in a form where you could drive it to work everday. Nine inch rear and new JK Dana 44. Possible removable top or rear shell are or remove the rear shell and close it in with a huge sliding ragtop.

28. I think a built 05' or newer (4.0L engine) Nissan Xterra would be a great platform to build off of. Body on frame construction and a healthy driveline. 44F/60R and 37/38's would make a great wheelin rig.

29. UAXJ has a nice ring to it, but perhaps I am partial since I am currently driving a 93 2 door. I will gladly donate my rig for the UA if I can get it back with mods and a little damage. :)

30. The 2010 UA rig has been chosen.

Fred will be building the boss a CJ to pilot on this years adventure.

Be sure to check out his blogs for behind the scenes build photos of what will be a well done Jeep.

Maybe next year on the XJ...
