Finally Flatty

I've been legally driving for 20 years and all that time I wanted a flatfender jeep, and now I have one.  (I actually had one before, but it was just a body and frame so I don't feel it really counts.)

From reading old magazines, seeing them on the trail, and finding them hiden across the country I always knew I had to have a flatfender.  Then a week ago I was driving in the hills of Pennsylvania and realized that it was time to get one, or I'd grow old without one.  I had alwasys thought the right one would find me, but duh! Jeeps just sit there waiting to be discovered. So I came home to California, found one and bought it yesterday.  It's a 1949 cj3a.  It has some home made tail gate and hood, but the rest of the body is really straight.  There is bondo, but it doesn't seem too bad.  The engine seems to be a corvette 283 from the 60's and though the wiring is a mess we did hot wire it yesterday and it purrs like a kitten.  Basically it's a Jeep the way they were built in the 60's and 70's.  I can't wait to fix the wiring, charge the battery and see what it will do.
