 I'm working on the next Nuts and Bolts segment with the guys from Dodge (Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Jeep questions will be in future issues).  And I'm looking for all your Dodge questions whether they be about a specific problem you are having, or about something you've always wondered from the Ram family.

1. I realize the Uni-bearing set up is easier to mass produce and likely cheaper to produce, but for the average Joe like me to replace them it is easier and more economical to simply pack and replace a couple bearings. This combined with failing vacuum CAD systems makes the standard locking hub set up much more consumer friendly in these difficult economic times. What are the chances of Chrysler/Dodge changing over to a standard locking hub set up with a one piece long side shaft?

3. If in today economic times of fuel economy,emissions,and renewable energy sources why not continue the small diesel program and offer the small Cummins motor in a half ton Ram with optional provisions on running the motor on veggie oil? Would it not be socially responsible to inform the general public the true advantages of diesel engines that the rest of the world already seems to know?

4. Why, does dodge not make more after market accessories for the Dakota? Like a lift kit or more performance accessories especially for the 2003-2005 Dakotas. Also why can't they make a Dodge Avenger SRT 6?

5. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 4X4 shortbed with the 5.2 engine. I want a small lift on the truck to fit bigger tires with 17X9 pro comp steel rock crawler wheels. But I need to know which lift is better...The leveling lift at 2.5" at under 100.00 or the 3" lift at 5 times the price. With my truck having a solid front axle I can't see where geometry would have problems. Will the ride stay the same with both or would I actually be better off to spend 5 times the money on another half an inch? My truck is a daily driver and my off road vehicle. I have owned a Ford all of my life until now, and I will never own anything but a Dodge from now on...keep up the good work.
