After an amazing day off wheeling at one of Michigan's finest, and newest, Off-Road parks the crew has settled in for one last night of camping on this Ultimate Adventure.
Our day of four wheeling began bright and early at 7am this morning with the mandatory drivers meeting. After getting our instructions for the day we hit the trails for a 14 hour day of trail rides over loads of rocks and tons of valleys. We hit everything today from rocks, to boulders, to off camber trails in the woods, to gooey sticky stinky mud. It was an exciting day.
No real carnage to report today, at least not a lot of it. We had one broken axle shaft, which was quickly replaced with one sourced from the local junk yard (the owner of the park is friends with the owner of the yard so we were able to get the parts rather quick). In addition to the axle shaft our guys took out one oil pan, fixed by the crew from Hobart, and a dented oil pan fixed with a BFH. Besides that a few bumps and bruises, on the rigs not on the people, but over all a solid day of four wheeling. At this point our group is really getting into the groove and things are going great, which makes my job of reporting the day's activities pretty easy.
Tomorrow we are on the road again, heading north out of town bright and early to get to our final official wheeling destination of Ultimate Adventure 2009, and back to a hotel of sorts for a nice shower, baby wipes only cut it for so long.
Until tomorrow... here's some more pictures.
Trivia Question: UA 09 marks the 10th anniversary of the Ultimate Adventure. I will mail the first 9 people to correctly name the locations of the previous Ultimate Adventures and the years we were there some 4WOR stickers and junk. You can't say the same one twice, so the first to get it correct gets it. And if we don't get all 9 then I'll send junk to however many we do get. Get crackin!
