Junk from Clunkers

Go to the Junkyards now!

Other than complete engines now is a great time to hit the junk yards.

Yesterday I went to the junk yard looking for a SM-465 PTO drive unit for the Dumpster and an old Warn/Saturn overdrive for the flatty.  Neither were there, but I did find four rows of vehicles from the cash for Clunkers trade in deal.  They all had sand or something in the engines making them useless, but there were still many good parts left on them.  I figured since my tax dollars helped buy these trucks from someone looking to get a new car I might as well get some parts off them.  I found this power steering reservoir off a YJ that will be perfect for my friend Alabama's YJ project.  Truth be told I'm not sure I like this cash for clunkers plan, yes it helps the economy, but I'm worried it will be a replay of all the houses people bought who couldn't really afford a new house, only now it's cars. At least it's not collecting a bunch of M37's and flatfenders up to be crushed.
