Travels with Charley

I am a huge fan of travel books.  If I can't pack up and leave on my own time and dime I figure I'll read about those who do.  I'm currently reading John Steinbeck's "Travels with Charley, In Search of America".  This story covers Steinbeck's 1960 road trip around the US in his GMC truck.

Over the weekended I visited the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas, CA and had a chance to see the original V6, two wheel drive green truck outfitted with Steinbeck's Wolverine camper.  The Camper, was christened Rocinante after Don Quixote's horse and served as home to Steinbeck and his dog Charley for their trip.  If you're looking for a good book I'd recommend it.
