GM Performance Parts announced their new smog legal E-Rod crate engine kit that can be swapped into any 1995 and older OBD1 vehicle or a specialty constructed vehicle.  This means any old Jeep, truck, etc that would be better off with a V8 can now be built without being hassled from the smog referee.  Plus it makes for the perfect engine for a fabricated smog legal rock buggy, mud truck, or sand rail.

The engine kit comes with a wiring harness, control module, catalytic converters, exhaust manifold, oxygen sensors, fuel tank evaporative emmisions canisters, air filter, mass airflow sensor, and drive by wire accelerator pedal.  The LS3 engine is a 6.2L 430 horse/424 lb-ft package, but a 5.3L, 7.0L and Supercharged 6.2L version will all be available.  The LS3 kit will retail for around $9,000, but is expected to sell for about $7,900 at your local GM dealership.  Get yours today.
