 The "Scorpion LMV" is being built to answer the Marines need for an internally transportable vehicle in the CV-22 Osprey and the LTATV/LMV published specifications. The attachment is a digital model of what the finished LMV will look like.
 
Preferred Chassis presented the Scorpion product to the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Border Patrol on Tuesday. The robotic, 2 seat and 4 seat Scorpions were shown and demonstrated. There was much interest in in the full size vehicles but tactical and search and rescue users were very excited about the reduced size LMV and wanted to view the the LMV in its current stage of construction.


Scorpion LMV preliminary specifications;   Dodge 2.0 SOHC 4 cylinder, Team Ramco 31TH automatic trans-axle with custom built spool, Samurai axles (front Detroit EZ locker with 26 spline shafts-rear ARB), Tom Woods shafts, Tom Lee steering w/axle ram, Warn 8000 front winch, Extreme Air electric compressor, dual Odyssey 1100 batteries, Bilstein 7100 shocks, rear disc brake conversion, Allied locks and Interco 34x9.50-15 TSLs.  
60 inches wide (not including tire bulge)
60 inches tall (on bump stops)
96 inch wheel base
130 inches over-all
56"wx38"l conventional pickup bed
12 inches ride height adjustment
34 inches of articulation/12 degree chassis roll
Estimated 2300-2500 lbs.
Seats two in cabin/four in troop seating (in bed)
