I just read a new report about what the top picks for commuter cars are in the nation. Not surprisingly I fell well out of the normal demographic and couldn't see myself driving any of the cars on the list. So this got me thinking. What is the most ideal commuter vehicle? Assuming that you have to driving at least 70 miles round trip a day, and it's a secondary vehicle so you can have a dedicated wheeler.
I would guess that traffic conditions, comfort, and fuel economy will all play a part. I actually like the new VW Passat wagon with the diesel engine. They are supposed to get incredibly fuel economy, they are pretty peppy, and you can mod them so it doesn't look like every other car on the road. So what's your pick?
